June 28, 2012 – Psalms 1 – 4

When reading Psalm 1, I was thinking about the whole notion of “I love God, but Hate Religion”.  Did that person ever read the Psalms or at least this first one.  “the law of the LORD is his joy’.  The rules and regulations are to be celebrated.  They allow us to flourish like the tree by a stream.  Far from limiting us, it helps us grow.  Without “religion” you are have no foundation, no guidance, no direction and you will be “like chaff driven in the wind.”  That seems pretty clear when you look at all the different teachings that claim to be “christian”.  Without the foundation of religion, they go wherever the imagination of a person can take Christ words.  But happy those who follow the law of the Lord.
