Jan. 6, 2010 - Wisdom 11
The main part of this chapter referenses back to the Exodus and some of the plagues that fell upon the Eygptians. It talks about the slaying of infants, which Moses escaped, by the Eygptians of the Hebrews because their numbers became too high. This will relate to our reading tomorrow about He...rod slaying the innocents to try and kill Jesus. Funny how Jesus escapes to Eygpt.
The last few verses give a great sense of the power of God and how nothing happens without His knowing and purpose in mind. It is impossible for us to phathom our universe is as a grain of sand to Him. We spend so much time believing the world revolves around us. We need to contol as much as we can. It is always both frightening and peaceful to have a moment where you understand you are not in control. I say a moment because we always fall back into control mode eventually.
