Jan. 8, 2010 - Catechism 1-10

So we begin our actual sections of the Catechism. It begins with the mission of man, to know God. Regardless of when in the history of man you look, we have always been seeking the something above us that created us or made us the way we are. All great civilizations had their God or gods.... The spread of atheism or agnostic ideas in our day in age is really a great departure for human history. One constant has always been the idea that we are not the top of the food chain, something was always above us. This whole idea of evolution alone and humans coming about with out any creator takes away that responsibilty to look at what things might mean in a larger scope. The idea that if it feels good it is right is something new. Not new as in an action because that has been around since sin was introduced. But the idea that it can be a way of life is something I believe is new and dangerous. Man is meant to seek, know and love God. Without that, man loses any moral compass.
