Jan. 21, 2010 – Genesis 7 – 8

Sad to say I never thought anything about the 7 days warning that God gave Noah until it was either in the TV movie about Noah or in Evan Almighty.  You had to know that people saw what Noah was doing and asking him about it.  They also probably thought he was crazy.  God left the ark open for 7 days so people had the opportunity to repent.  It doesn’t say that Noah was suppose to let them on or not, but nobody took it series.  Think if anyone has ever warned you about something in your life and you didn’t heed their warning. 

7 days aboard waiting.  40 days of rain.  150 days of the water cresting.  150 more days and you could see the top of the mountains again.  40 days and then he sent out a raven.  Then he sent out a dove.  Waited 7 days and sent the dove out again and it returned with an olive branch.  7 more days and the dove did not return on release.  401 days upon the ark.  Of course that doesn’t count the month and a half he waited after he took the cover off before God told him to leave the ark. 

What is up with the raven.  Is it suppose to mean something that it was first and that it didn’t come back.
