Jan. 9, 2010 - Genesis 3:14-4:26

Verse 15 is known as the protoevangelium. Also called teh first gospel or the first prophecy about Christ. It reminds me of an image I saw in Rome a couple of years ago of Mary teaching a child Jesus to step on a snakes head.

The emnity between teh serpant and the woman is one of the ...things we point to as Catholics to show the Mary was born without original sin. Emnity means a complete seperation, and it would make sense that the woman God choose to bring Jesus in the world would have that kind of seperation from sin.

In chapter 4 we see selfishness and eny bare its head pretty early on. Also, we see that god is pleased when you give Him your best, not just your leftovers, a lesson I still am working on because I was a little lazy yesterday and am doing this this morning. I guess we need to always remember that God knows our thoughts. He knows what we are going to do and more importantly why we are doing it. He wants our best and so we should strive to give it, even when we are feeling like just watching TV all day instead.
