May 11, 2013 – Proverbs 24

24:10 – We have had some struggles lately about letting people know what our opinion is on what other people are choosing to do.  There are many that say “let them do what they want” or “let them make up their own mind”.  I would call that being indifferent.  But they are very opinionated about being indifferent.  Being indifferent has become something to defend, it has become a belief that people are passionate about.  It really makes no sense to me that indifference is something to stand for and I really don’t understand the argument that we should allow people to make their own decisions, their own mistakes, and it is none of our business.  That is not only indifference, it is a lack of love. 

30-34 – Laziness is something that I think I struggle with.  Maybe not sluggardness, but that is where it leads and it is a pretty slippery slope down towards that.  “a little sleep” the scriptures say will lead you down a path to something that will bog you down and keep you from God.  And it is not about keeping busy with anything, but you must make sure you are keeping busy filling your life with Godly things.  I don’t think God wants you to counter laziness with filling your life with sin.
