May 31, 2013 – Proverbs 31

Two different types of proverbs here at the end.  One, a note to a son.  Second, a description of a good wife.  I think there are many that would be offended that this is written.  I don’t think it is offensive, but I am a man.  There is just this underlying angst towards this idea that a woman’s purpose (one of them) is to be a good wife and mother.  That is so offensive to the feminist that feels women should be out of the home and have everything the same as men.  This list is not bad.  Be strong, supportive, raise good children, help the poor, etc.  That is a great list for anyone to aim for.  I also think there are many that hate anything because it comes from the Bible.  No matter what it actually says, a person will disagree or fight it because of the source.  If it were written in something different, they wouldn’t have a problem with it.  The world is a messed up place some most of the time.
